There’s a real strong link between your overall food nutrition and the state of your hair. The cells that make up each strand of hair require a regular supply of key nutrients. So what food should you eat to help strengthen your hair and avoid hair loss?

Food to battle hair loss

º   Eggs – A great source of protein, vitamin B and biotin, all of which will help with hair growth
º   Poultry – A lot of poultry contains a high amount of protein, they also contain zinc, iron and vitamin B to keep your hair thick and strong!
º   Oysters – These contain a lot of Zinc which is great for your hair and nail growth
º   Blueberries - Containing a lot of Vitamin, lack of this vitamin can cause damage to your hair because there wont be as much blood supplied to the scalp!
º   Salmon – Salmon is rich in protein and vitamin D, both very good for hair, you need the omega 3 fatty acids which will help your hair grow stronger and your body is not able to produce this on our own!
º   Greek Yogurt - Greek yogurt naturally contains a lot of vitamin B5 and vitamin D, vitamin B5 is a pantothenic acid which is very good for hair growth and maintenance, in fact it often an added ingredient in hair care products!
º   Walnuts - These are perfect for hair growth as they include fatty acids such as Omega 3!
º   Sweet Potato - An anti-oxidant called Carotene that's included in sweet potato helps your body produce Vitamin A, this can then help replenish your scalp to keep it healthy!
º   Spinach - Containing three of the most important ingredients in hair growth (Iron, Vitamin c, beta carotene and folate) will help keep your scalp healthy and hair follicles nourished!
º   Lentils - Lentils are full of protein, zinc, iron and biotin, if you do not have enough protein then you cannot create keratin, keratin strengthens and assists hair growth.

If you start to eat more of this vital food regularly, then you will have a chance at improving the health of your scalp and hair. By eating the correct balance of nutrients including protein, vitamins and minerals will help to supply hair with all that it needs to remain shiny, lustrous and strong.
